Summary: We just got back from 4 nights at this rental in the La Casa Cottage Resort. First of all, let me say that the trip wasn't horrible, but it also wasn't great. I would not go back. The resort is a massive complex. This particular unit is located on the upper part of the resort, away from the beach/lake. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the upstairs patio (which doesn't even have a small table so you can't eat up there or even set down a drink). We decided to go to the resort at the end of the high season, after the long weekend, so that it would be a bit quieter. Unfortunately, while the resort became quieter, it also appears that the staff were dwindled down. Upon our arrival, we contacted Guest Services (it took them about 30 minutes to call us back) to "check in", which simply involved us telling them that we had arrived. I noted that we weren't left with the Wifi password and was told that there was an additional charge of $10 per day for Wifi. It is not listed in the rental description that there is an additional charge for Wifi. I double checked it before writing this review. In fact "Wireless Internet" is listed as a feature. There is an asterisk next to it, but no corresponding comment. Apparently that asterisk means that you have to pay extra for something that every other rental accommodation includes. The cottage was NOT clean. The floors were sticky (yes, sticky) and the dishes weren't clean; we had to re-wash them before we used them. The couches and bed were uncomfortable. It is an oddly laid out cottage. There is a very small bedroom on the main floor near the kitchen and the bed barely fits in the room. There was no space to put our bags in the bedroom so we left them around the dining room table. You could barely open the door without hitting the bed. Upstairs there are bunk beds in the second bedroom with what appears to be a large play area behind the beds. The bathrooms seemed more clean than the rest of the cottage, but I would suggest not looking at the toilet too closely. There were stains around the edges of the seat. I have more comments, but I ran out of room. Essentially, there is nothing that is luxurious about this cottage. It is small, awkwardly laid out, uncomfortable and unclean. We left thinking that it would've been nicer if we had just spent the 4 nights at home, which is unfortunate.
